The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Punjab Agro Industries Corporation, and Hindustan Unilever (HUL) are joining forces to boost tomato cultivation and paste manufacturing in Punjab. During his visit to HUL's plant in Rajpura, S. Ravneet Singh Bittu, Union Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Industries, underscored the importance of collective efforts to help Punjab farmers grow tomatoes of international standards and scale up tomato paste production.

During the plant tour, Minister Bittu urged HUL management to increase local procurement, ensuring greater benefits for Punjab's farming community. He assured that the Government of India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, would extend all necessary support to Punjab's agricultural sector.
