Johnnie Walker Unveils Limited Edition Blue Label Design for Year of the Snake, Created by Visionary Artist James Jean

Johnnie Walker, the world’s leading Scotch Whisky, has revealed its new Lunar New Year Limited Edition design for Johnnie Walker Blue Label, created by renowned Asian-American visual artist James Jean. Following the success of last year’s Year of the Dragon design, this vibrant interpretation of the Year of the Snake marks the second collaboration between the Scotch brand and the influential artist.

The dynamic 2025 design features an innovative reimagining of the snake, symbolizing renewal, growth, and ambition. Jean’s artwork showcases three snakes, representing wisdom, intelligence, and intuition, shedding their skins amid blooming flowers, signifying transformation and self-reinvention—values that align closely with the spirit of Johnnie Walker.

"The snake, known for its ability to renew itself, was the perfect symbol for progress and self-improvement," Jean explains. "I wanted to create a snake that feels new and innovative, while still respecting tradition. It’s about embracing change with optimism, much like the 'Keep Walking' ethos of Johnnie Walker."

The design concept draws inspiration from Johnnie Walker Blue Label’s legacy of blending rare and exceptional whiskies, and reflects Jean’s unique ability to merge contemporary themes with traditional artistic influences. His style, inspired by Chinese scroll paintings, Japanese woodblock prints, and Renaissance portraits, brings a timeless yet forward-thinking aesthetic to the limited edition bottle.

Jean, born in Taipei and raised in New Jersey, collaborated closely with Johnnie Walker to ensure his vision captured both the heritage of the Lunar New Year and the bold, progressive nature of the brand.
