The Union Minister of Food Processing Industries, Shri Chirag Paswan, inaugurated the 8th edition of Indusfood 2025 today at the Expo Centre, Greater Noida. Baba Ramdev, serving as the guest of honor, joined a distinguished panel that included Mohit Singla, Chairman of TPCI; Abhishek Dev, Chairman of APEDA; Aashish Agrawal, Managing Director of Bikharam Chandmal; and Aakash Shah, Director of Everest Food Products, along with industry leaders and buyers from around the globe.
In his inaugural address, Shri Paswan lauded Indusfood as a globally recognized platform that strengthens India’s food and beverage (F&B) sector by providing international market linkages. He noted, “Indusfood’s transformation into a comprehensive farm-to-fork trade fair is a visionary step by TPCI, showcasing the evolution of our F&B sector and driving its exports.”
Processed Foods: A Pillar of India's Future
Highlighting the growing demand for processed foods, Shri Paswan stated, “As lifestyles evolve and family structures change, the demand for processed food will rise exponentially. This segment holds immense potential and will be a key contributor to the Prime Minister’s vision of making India a ‘Viksit Bharat.’”
The Minister emphasized India's role as a global agri-producer and exporter, championing the mantra, "Swaad Seemayon ka Mohtaaz Nhi Hota" (Taste knows no boundaries). He called for the expansion of Indian cuisine globally and highlighted the government’s commitment to ensuring food security worldwide.
Focus on Food Safety and Innovation
Shri Paswan underscored the importance of food safety alongside taste, announcing that the FSSAI will soon host a regulatory summit to enhance compliance. He also revealed plans to add 100 new food testing labs to ensure food safety and extend the shelf life of perishable goods, reducing losses.
Baba Ramdev’s Vision for Indusfood
Calling Indusfood an “Aahaar ka Mahakumbh”, Baba Ramdev noted, “With representatives from 130 countries and a large contingent of chefs, the event reflects the world’s growing interest in Indian cuisine. Indian food, culture, and values are globally respected, and Indusfood embodies India’s strength in these areas.”
APEDA’s Export Aspirations
Abhishek Dev, Chairman of APEDA, highlighted India’s growing stature in global food exports, which touched USD 50 billion last year. “India ranks 7th globally, yet our share of the USD 4 trillion global market is just 2.4%. The processed food sector offers immense potential, and we aim to grow value-added exports by 40% in the next 3-4 years and quadruple organic food exports within five years,” he said.
TPCI’s Vision for Collaboration and Growth
Mohit Singla, Chairman of TPCI, described Indusfood 2025 as a celebration of relationships, trust, and a shared vision for redefining the F&B industry. “This year, with 1,800 exhibitors spread across 80,000 sq. meters, we’re fostering a vibrant ecosystem of possibilities.”
Shri Singla also highlighted the first Asian President’s Forum, hosted in collaboration with the Indian Federation of Culinary Associations, featuring 35 international chefs and 100 Indian delegates. This initiative promotes cross-cultural exchange, innovation, and global partnerships in the hospitality sector.
Integrated Event Format: A Game Changer
Indusfood 2025 brings together three concurrent trade fairs—Indusfood Food & Beverage, Indusfood Manufacturing, and Indusfood Agri-Tech—to create synergies across the farm-to-fork value chain. With its meticulously designed format, the event strengthens India's position as a leader in the global F&B market.
Indusfood 2025 stands as a testament to India’s growing influence in the international food trade, providing unparalleled opportunities for innovation, collaboration, and growth in the F&B industry.
